Dentons Venture Tech invited to Fintech panel in NYC

Andrea Johnson (Dentons Venture Tech – Ottawa) has been invited by Global Affairs Canada to participate on a Fintech panel in New York City to discuss what is driving the Fintech market in Canada.

She will also discuss Dentons’ involvement in Canada’s first regulatory sandbox for Fintech, Dentons’ collaboration with the OSC to bring Lending Loop, Canada’s first fully regulated peer-to-peer lending platform focused on small businesses, to Canada, and more.

Andrea will be joined on the panel by Brian Christiansen, a lawyer from Skadden, who will provide US perspective, and Jason Gurandiano, of RBC’s Technology Investment Banking Team. David Nugent, CIO of Wealthsimple,  will be the keynote speaker.

Organized by the Consulate General of Canada in NYC, this Fintech panel discussion / reception will focus on helping US-based Fintech entrepreneurs understand the Canadian regulatory environment with a view to succeeding in the Canadian market.
